Inspired by the noble vision of our esteemed Chancellor Shri. Ankushrao Kadam to provide research-based, innovation-oriented, science education, MGM University established the University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UDPS) 2023. The department is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Our core mission is to provide world-class education, training and research opportunities to the students of pharmaceutical science. At the same time, the department also aims to explore the possibilities of collaborations with government institutions and private pharmaceutical industries for the larger social welfare.

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” With this philosophy and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, MGM established an educational trust in 1982 under the guidance of former Education Minister Shri Kamalkishore Kadam and a group of founder members who are hard-core academicians and visionaries.
The Trust established its pioneering institute in the historical city of Aurangabad, home to the heritage sites of Ajanta & Ellora but lacking in premiere educational institutes. For more than four decades, Mahatma Gandhi Mission has blazed a trail of academic excellence and state-of-the-art health care services.
For the last almost four decades, it had been our mission to contribute, in whatever small measure, to the realisation of one of the most cherished dreams of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. “to wipe every tear from every eye.” We chose to achieve this dream by setting up an educational trust, committed to provide outstanding facilities in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medical, Engineering, Management, Architecture, Journalism, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, IT, Performing Arts, Agriculture, Hospitality Management and Primary Education for the youth of the country.
The world is looking to India of 21st century as an emerging power. The reason for this attribution is the promising youth which the country is bestowed with. Gone are the days when dearth of resource acted as an obstacle and restricted the opportunities available at home. We all clearly recall how the world was brought to its knees during the unprecedented pandemic of Covid-19. All our investments in the gigantic infrastructure and developmental projects stood still as we couldn't use them at all. In this atmosphere of gloom and doom what really kept our hopes alive was the vaccine research conducted by scientists around the world. It was this tireless research, with the invention of the vaccines, pulled us out of the pandemic. And there we realized the importance of investing medical and pharmaceutical research. Importantly, India, rightly hailed as the pharmacy of the world for its world-leading pharmaceutical sector, played a crucial role in safeguarding humanity during these challenging times.
